A Kansas woman was arrested last week immediately after she named her daughter to say she’d been shot in what was intended to be an April Fools’ joke.
“Several law enforcement models, most likely amongst 15-20 officers from the Wichita Police Division as very well as fire office and EMS responded to the scene,” Wichita law enforcement Lt. Ronald Hunt reported soon after the daughter identified as 911 to report the “taking pictures” — unaware it was a gag.
Authorities arrived, encompassing the Wichita residence and blocking off nearby streets. Officers with guns drawn then broke down the door when no a single responded, Hunt claimed. The house was vacant.
The lady, discovered as Arnthia Willis, 58, was at operate at the time. She was arrested Thursday on suspicion of unlawful request for unexpected emergency company support, police said.

“April Fools’ can be a fantastic, humorous minimal joke in some situation” but when it prospects to a police response “it is not humorous any more,” Hunt mentioned.

A further female was arrested in Ohio previous week when she texted her daughter as an April Fools’ joke that an active shooter was at the plant wherever she labored.
