Nuts about home

Guess the rent of this 1-bedroom La Cantera area

With talks of the great California exodus, it’s clear that people are moving to Texas. Even celebrities. As rents appear to be plunging in some U.S. cities, that doesn’t seem to be the case with San Antonio. From finding your perfect new home to negotiating rent prices, searching for an apartment in San Antonio can be quite the experience. MySA is taking inspiration from our sister publication SFGate in San Francisco to find local properties showcasing the best, worst, and everything in between here in the Alamo City. Welcome to Saytown’s “Guess the Rent” series.

For this week’s Craiglist find, we’ve answered a question everyone in San Antonio has most likely had while living here, How much is it to live at an apartment complex in the La Cantera area. We are looking at a one-bedroom apartment with a private patio or balcony (depending on which one you get) on 17803 La Cantera Terrance.

The elegant, Tuscan-inspired apartment is situated at Arrive Eilan, which isn’t far from the shops and restaurants at The Rim. It’s set atop a secluded hill overlooking San Antonio, according to its Craiglist post.

It has a private patio or balcony overlooking the picturesque La Cantera hills.

It’s 782 square feet, which is just enough for a one-bedroom apartment (unless it’s for a couple, maybe go for something larger). The bathroom is inside the bedroom that is 15-by-12 feet. The spacious living room has hardwood floors and custom windows.

The kitchen offers a Tuscan-inspired design.

The kitchen is the first thing you see once you enter the apartment, according to the Craigslist post. It has stainless steel appliances with a gas top stove, as well as granite countertops (I’m a sucker for this). All apartments at this complex also come with a washer and dryer (umm, yes).

Craiglist

The one advertised on Craiglist looks like the living room has enough space for a couch, table, and television set as it’s 20-by-13.

A full gym is part of the amenities at the apartment complex.

The apartment complex comes with resort-style and lap swimming pools, a fitness center, a puppy park, covered parking, and a cyber cafe.

For the apartment and all its amenities, rent at this apartment runs $1,475, which can seem like a lot but you’re not only paying for the home, you’re also investing in views, easy access to all the luxurious spots at the Rim and La Cantera, and a freaking amazing pool.
